FACTS or the Focus on Clinical and Translational Science is an online resource for professionals and trainees involved in clinical and translational research, created by the Clinical and Translational Science Institute at Children's National (CTSI-CN) in partnership with The George Washington University.
FACTS is organized into sections, which include the 14 thematic areas of the Core Competencies in Clinical and Translational Research that were developed by the national Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) Consortium.
Under each thematic area, you will find a variety of resources aimed at enhancing your competency in clinical and translational research. Resources include articles, online courses, and other web-based tutorials. Click on the topic above to find resources.
FACTS is intended to be an individualized tool for your own professional and career development. The resources do not need to be completed in any particular order or timeframe. Upon entry into each area, you will find a list of expected competencies. Determine which ones you feel you need additional training and identify which resources may best assist you in developing your knowledge, skills, and abilities in these areas. Or use the self-assessment tool, the Clinical Research Appraisal Inventory (CRAI-12), below to assist you.
Please help us make FACTS a valuable tool for all members of the CTSI-CN community by suggesting additional resources not currently in FACTS by contacting Amanda Kasper, AKasper@childrensnational.org.
